Dresser Home Transformed For A Father’s Comfort

Our problem solving strategy aided Tom and Mary Dresser to transform and remodel their home as a family decision to assist Mary’s father Russell to live safely and independently. We wanted the addition to provide flexible functionality without taking away from the house. This addition helped fulfill Russell’s independence and comfort by not having to enter the nursing home.

After the completion of the initial addition the Dresser’s chose to add a separate private entrance for caregivers. This entrance permitted the caretaker to enter directly into Russell’s space so as not to invade and disturb the main part of the house.

With the help of our team Tom and Mary were better able to assist Russell in a safe and comfortable setting for both parties. Since Russell’s passing the Dresser’s have transformed the space into a family den and study room.

Our goal is to provide quality work for our clients in an effective and timely manner. After accessing the needs of the Dresser’s, we designed a plan for the Dresser’s home addition. Hassinger Bathroom Modified for Independence

Ed and Isabelle Hassinger have a desire to age in their home for several more years. Through a professional contact, we were recommended to remodel parts of their home so they would be able to live there longer without restrictions. Angela, our Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist, facilitated changes that will allow the Hassinger’s to remain independent for years to come.

Hand rails
Granite roll-in vanity
Widened doors into bedroom and bathroom
Tile floor in bathrooms
Low profile carpet in other parts of the home

Like all of our projects, we strive to be efficient and considerate of our clients. After consulting with the Hassinger’s, we tailored a plan to fit the Hassinger’s needs and situation. We explained the entire process from start to finish and answered all of their questions. We also gave them a week-by-week overview during the several months the design and remodeling took.

The Boone County Council on Aging hosts the 21^st Mature Living Festival on Friday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival has a new site at Parkade Plaza located at 601 Business Loop 70W. This event fundraises for the Boone County Council on Aging, a local nonprofit service that assists low income seniors to live freely.

Come join the fun with free giveaways and live music and entertainment all day. Be sure to check out the senior art show at the Mature Living Festival. More than 60 exhibitors will be showcasing information, education and financial planning resources. Families and caregivers are encouraged to come out and show their support.
