Porter Kitchen

Porter Family Kitchen

Elaine Porter’s charming cottage was built in 1932, and the house and grounds have a story-book feel.
Elaine chose Kerry Bramon Remodeling and Design and designer Angela Holloway to transform her outdated kitchen into a beautiful “transitional kitchen.” The KBRD team maintained the kitchen’s original footprint and vintage feel by widening the passage from the dining to the kitchen. The window above the sink was lowered to provide a better view of Elaine’s backyard garden and patio. The opening to the dining from the kitchen to the laundry/mudroom was enlarged, and a pocket door was installed.

The bright, light-filled kitchen has white “Whitney” Cambria Quartz countertops with just a hint of sparkle. Their reflective quality is further enhanced by under-cabinet lighting and complemented by the white glass subway tile backsplash. The custom cabinets were painted white to continue the clean, crisp look. The under-cabinet microwave and glass front GE refrigerator were purchased from Downtown Appliance in Columbia.

  • By combining both traditional and contemporary design elements, the KBRD team completed Elaine’s vision of a simply, beautiful kitchen without jeopardizing the character and charm of the home.
