Keith and Jane Boles live on Cedar Lake and raised their family there. The kitchen was in need of updating and they wanted to make the lake a focal point of the kitchen. The goals were: lake view, improved storage, practical use of space, and a home office. The design challenge included a small, awkward corner with a door which could not be moved. The solution included a stove placed in the corner with a gas cooktop and a stainless steel, professional quality vent hood. The solutions also included moving appliances, adding a double wall oven, creating a new pantry with pull-out shelves and reframing and enlarging the windows overlooking the lake to improve the aesthetics and the structure supporting the second floor.
